How This Bangle Came to Life❤️
It started with a surprise from my husband. He told me he had something for me—and then handed me a rod of pure 4-gauge copper wire.
If you've never handled 4-gauge copper, it is massive. Believe it or not, I hand-coiled that heavy copper around my jig so I could create just three or four bangles from it.
Because of the incredible thickness and strength of the copper, this is the only size I can make. I simply couldn't hand-coil the wire any tighter around my jig.
But that unusual size opened up another possibility. Besides being a wonderful bangle for a larger hand and wrist, on a slimmer arm it can be worn higher—as an arm bangle just below the elbow or above the elbow for an entirely different look.
Sometimes the material decides where a design is going to go. In this case, that massive rod of copper became the beginning of my Mixed Metal Crystal Inlay Fusion Bangle.
🔥 Copper and silver, built together
I make this bangle from solid 4-gauge copper, with an integrated sterling-silver section from leftover sterling silver pieces that also forms the soldered join. Heavy hand-crisscross hammering gives the metal its dimensional, 3-D texture. The result has the presence of a statement piece, with details that reward a closer look.
✨ Three small points of sparkle
Three flat Swarovski crystals are individually inlaid by cold fusion technique into the silver section before the bangle receives its final tumbling and polish. Rather than covering the metalwork, they draw your eye to the place where the two metals meet.
📏 Is it the right fit for you?
This is intentionally a substantial, larger bangle, with a recorded inner diameter of 2 6/8 inches. It measures approximately 4 mm in width and thickness and weighs about 1.4 oz. Depending on your fit and styling preference, you can wear it at the wrist or farther up the arm. Check the inner diameter against a bangle you already wear comfortably before choosing it.

From shaping and hammering the copper to setting each crystal and polishing the finished piece, this is hands-on work. Copper can develop a natural patina over time, adding to the character of your bangle.
