What makes this bangle so special?

This design begins with exceptionally thick 4-gauge solid copper. A section of sterling silver is incorporated directly into the bangle, creating the striking mixed-metal detail while also serving as the section where I solder the bangle together.

Once soldered, I heavily hammer the solid metal to create its dramatic, deeply dimensional 3-D texture. The severe hammering transforms the thick metal into a sculptural surface that catches the light differently from every angle.

Three precise openings are individually drilled into the sterling silver section along the side wall of the bangle. Three flat Swarovski crystals are then individually inlaid by hand into those openings, creating an unexpected line of sparkle along the edge rather than across the top. This distinctive side-wall crystal inlay is one of the details that makes the Mixed Metal Crystal Inlay Fusion Bangle so unusual.

The result is an unexpected line of brilliant sparkle set against rugged, heavily worked metal.

✨ What Happens to the Copper Over Time?

One of the beautiful characteristics of solid copper is that it naturally darkens and develops a patina over time.

As the copper deepens in color, the contrast with the brighter sterling silver becomes increasingly dramatic, helping the three sparkling Swarovski crystals stand out even more beautifully.

Rather than taking away from the design, the changing copper gives your bangle additional character as it ages.

⚖️ Is This a Lightweight Bangle?

Definitely not.

At approximately 1.4 ounces, the Mixed Metal Crystal Fusion Bangle has noticeable substance on the wrist. Its weight comes from the exceptionally thick 4-gauge solid-metal construction.

If you prefer very thin or lightweight jewelry, this may not be the bangle for you. But if you love bold artisan jewelry that you can actually feel on your wrist, its substantial weight is part of what makes this design so special.

📏 How Will It Fit?

Because this bangle is constructed from extremely substantial 4-gauge metal, choosing the correct size is important. A properly sized bangle needs to pass over the widest part of your hand while sitting comfortably on your wrist.

This bangle is a larger bangle to be able to also wear it on the lower and or upper arm

Every Mixed Metal Crystal Fusion Bangle is individually handcrafted by me, Alexa, in my Montana studio.

I form the massive copper, incorporate and solder the sterling silver section, heavily hammer the metal to create its dramatic texture, precisely prepare the three crystal settings, and finally inlay each Swarovski crystal before the finishing polish.

This is my original Alexa Martha design, not a mass-produced piece. Because each bangle is created and textured individually by hand, subtle variations are part of its character and make each one uniquely yours.
