Approximately 20 feet of sterling silver wire. 0.5 ounces of genuine sterling silver. Several days of handwork. A genuine 6mm Burma ruby. And only ONE bracelet available.
This one-of-a-kind handmade sterling silver Viking knit bracelet combines an ancient wire-working technique with substantial precious metal and a beautiful genuine ruby accent.
I created the intricate Viking knit entirely by hand using approximately 20 feet of .925 sterling silver wire, resulting in a finished bracelet containing approximately 0.5 ounces of genuine sterling silver.
The finished Viking knit is remarkably soft and flexible, moving almost like fabric around the wrist while retaining the strength and beauty of sterling silver.
A 6mm genuine Burma ruby bead charm adds a rich touch of color beside the sterling silver toggle closure.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: This bracelet was made specifically to fit a 6.5-inch wrist. Only ONE is available.
This isn't a manufactured silver chain.
I created the bracelet by hand using Viking knit, an intricate wire-looping technique with historical roots going back more than 1,000 years.
Approximately 20 feet of sterling silver wire were individually worked and woven into the dense, flexible tubular chain. The finished bracelet contains approximately 0.5 ounces of genuine .925 sterling silver and took me several days of meticulous work to complete.
Despite the amount of silver used, Viking knit has an amazingly soft, flexible feel. It bends and moves naturally around the wrist while creating the beautiful dimensional texture you see in the photographs.
And there is only ONE.

One of the most remarkable things about this bracelet is how much sterling silver is actually contained within the intricate weave.
The finished bracelet contains approximately 0.5 ounces of genuine .925 sterling silver.
To create the Viking knit, I used approximately 20 feet of sterling silver wire, painstakingly worked into the dense 8mm tubular weave.
Instead of simply forming a conventional chain, the silver wire is repeatedly looped and interwoven to build the flexible structure.
Look closely at the photographs and you can see the individual strands of sterling silver traveling over, under and around one another.
The texture isn't stamped, cast or machine-made. The intricate silver weave IS the bracelet.
Viking knit, sometimes referred to as Viking wire weaving or trichinopoly, is a historical wire-working technique in which individual loops of wire are interconnected to create a flexible chain.
Instead of knitting with yarn, I am working with sterling silver wire.
The process requires patience because the structure is built gradually through repeated loops. Once completed, those individual strands become an intricate, dimensional tube of precious metal.
The result is one of my favorite characteristics of this bracelet:
It looks substantial, yet feels surprisingly soft and flexible in your hand and around your wrist.
Nestled beside the sterling silver toggle closure is a genuine 6mm Burma ruby bead charm.
Its rich ruby color provides a beautiful contrast against the cool tone of the sterling silver without overpowering the intricate Viking knit.
Ruby also makes this bracelet especially meaningful as a:
❤️ July birthstone gift
❤️ 40th wedding anniversary gift
❤️ Gift for a ruby lover
❤️ Meaningful one-of-a-kind jewelry gift
The small dangling ruby adds just enough movement and color while allowing the handmade silver work to remain the star.
This bracelet fits a 6.5-inch wrist ONLY.
The finished bracelet measures approximately 7 inches in total length and was specifically constructed to comfortably fit a 6.5-inch wrist.
Because this is the completed one-of-a-kind bracelet shown in the photographs, it cannot be resized or recreated in another size.
Please measure your wrist before ordering.
The bracelet closes with a sterling silver toggle clasp that complements the handmade construction.
The toggle becomes part of the design rather than something that needs to be hidden. The genuine ruby charm hangs beside it, drawing attention to the handcrafted finishing details.

Or simply keep it for yourself because you want a bracelet no one else will be wearing.
Sterling silver naturally develops tarnish and patina over time. Gently polish accessible areas with a soft silver polishing cloth.
Because Viking knit contains many individual interlocking strands, avoid aggressively pulling, bending or scrubbing the woven section. If necessary, gently clean the intricate areas with a very soft brush.
Wipe the ruby gently with a soft cloth and avoid harsh chemicals.
Store your bracelet clean and dry when it isn't being worn.
This bracelet isn't priced by the ounce of silver alone. Its value is in what I created from that silver.
I began with approximately 20 feet of .925 sterling silver wire and spent several days hand-working it into an intricate 8mm Viking knit, creating a finished bracelet containing approximately 0.5 ounces of sterling silver.
I finished it with sterling silver components, a toggle closure and a genuine 6mm Burma ruby bead charm.
There is no production line behind it. No machine created the weave.
I made this bracelet myself in my Montana studio, one loop at a time.
