Lava Stone, also known as Basalt and Lava Rock as many like to call it. I like to call lava stone because it feels more like a stone than a rock. Lava rock is a search term for a mineral that forms when magma from volcanoes solidifies and hardens into rock. Lava stones are often mistaken as gem stones for whatever reason, but they are not really officially recognized as gemstones. In fact, from a geological standpoint they are not gemstones at all!

Most Lava Rock that appears on the market today is probably mined and comes in many and shapes. A calming stone, that it is instrumental in dissipating anger. And than some say that Lava stone is a grounding stone that strengthens one's connection to Mother Earth.
